A chronic “pain in the neck.”
Whiplash is a very common injury in rear end accidents and is caused by a forceful and rapid back and forth movement of the neck, similar to the motion of a whip. However, broadside collisions and other types of collisions can also cause whiplash, which can occur from side to side movement, as well as back and forth. Symptoms of whiplash can range from mild to severe and may include soreness, stiffness, decreased range of motion in the neck, shoulder and/or upper back pain, numbness or tingling in the arms, fatigue, dizziness, blurred vision, tinnitus and mood changes.
