The most common collision
Rear end collisions are the most common type of car accident, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), accounting for about 29% of all traffic incidents. They occur when a vehicle is struck from behind by another vehicle while stopped or moving at a low rate of speed and are often caused by distracted driving and/or insufficient following distance. Rear end collisions can result in neck, back, head, arm wrist and facial injuries, disfigurements and broken bones, as well as brain injuries and fatalities.
