Ramtin is not your average entrepreneur; he is an innovator who thrives on pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. His first steps into the legal funding industry were marked by a commitment to understanding the business from the ground up. He recognized the challenges people faced in this field and dedicated himself to pioneering groundbreaking solutions.
Ramtin and his partners started Rockpoint Legal Funding with limited financial resources and no prior attorney relationships but with a fierce determination to succeed. Remarkably, many of Rockpoint’s largest accounts can be traced back to cold emails or cold calls made from Ramtin’s kitchen.
Ramtin holds two Bachelor’s Degrees from USC: one in Business Administration and Management and one in Policy Planning and Development. He started his career as a precious metals broker, but by the time he was 29, he had launched two businesses together with his brother, Ramin Ghaneeian.
Ramtin remains deeply connected to the community he serves, making sure that Rockpoint actively participates in charitable endeavors and local initiatives that support the community’s growth.
In his spare time, Ramtin maintains an active lifestyle. He loves traveling, exercising and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Maz Ghorban is the President of Rockpoint Legal. Prior to joining Rockpoint, Maz was EVP and Business Unit CEO of Alert Communications, a subsidiary of Everservice and the largest legal only intake call center in the United States. Before Alert Communications, Maz was Vice President of Global Services at AbacusNext (now Caret), a premier provider of practice management solutions for law firms and accounting firms. Prior to AbacusNext, Maz was Vice President of Corporate Strategy and M&A at OnSolve, a leader in the emergency mass notification space.
Earlier in his career, Maz held senior management positions at West Corporation and Raindance, and was Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy at MIR3, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and led the sale of the company to Veritas Capital. Maz has spent 20 years supporting plaintiff and defense firms at every part of the firm lifecyle, including case acquisition, case management, IT/Technology and firm operations.
Maz is a die hard fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and spends his free time with his family when he’s not watching/teaching boxing or playing musical instruments.
Caren is a creative problem solver! She handles a wide array of legal matters for Rockpoint, including litigation, compliance, regulatory, finance and employment. She is also a trusted advisor on operational matters. She loves Rockpoint’s diverse and supportive team and never forgets that it is the passion for helping people that drives our company.
Caren holds a B.A., Magna Cum Laude, from UCLA and a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School. She began her career as a litigator at McKenna Long & Aldridge. Later, she became a senior managing in-house counsel at San Manuel Band of Mission Indians / San Manuel Casino, where she handled a vast scope of legal and operational matters. Her professional passion lies in working within a company and getting to be a part of its mission, operations and growth.
Caren is a sports enthusiast who loves hiking, attending her kids’ sporting events and watching the Dodgers.
Bob is the Head of Underwriting and a driving force behind our company’s success. His approach to everyday challenges shows his belief that a group of hard-working people moving together toward a defined goal can overcome almost any obstacle. Bob truly cares about the well-being of our customers and is proud to belong to an industry that provides financial assistance to law firms and their clients in their fight against insurance companies and their virtually limitless resources.
He is a Bachelor of Business Administration from Cabrini University and a Cum Laude Juris Doctor from Widener University Delaware Law School. Before joining our team in 2017, Bob accumulated ten years of industry experience at both the operating company and hedge fund levels.
In his free time, he likes to stay active. Bob enjoys cycling and running, but, most of all, he loves lake trips with his wife and three little girls.
Conor is our Medical Operations guru! He oversees the team that coordinates surgeries, adds providers and facilities to our network, negotiates contracts and much more. Conor is ambitious and thrives on making difficult requests happen. He and his team are always happy to work with customers to achieve mutually beneficial goals.
Conor has a strong background in legal and medical analysis and coordination. Before joining our team in 2019, he scheduled nurses and oversaw medical coordination for veterans in the CalVet Retirement Community in West LA. He even worked as a lead legal assistant in a $12m-verdict TBI lawsuit in Orange County.
Conor hails from Ireland but lives in Idaho. He loves economics, reading and gardening. And he has a young, beautiful family he loves to spend time with.
Kathleen makes things easier for the rest of us by overseeing the design and development of our proprietary software products and supervising implementation and maintenance of operational technology and data security. She also helms our marketing, business intelligence, quality control and customer care departments. Kathleen is an innovative, hardworking and caring leader who never loses sight of her purpose: to assist people who have found themselves in unfortunate circumstances so that they can persevere and thrive.
Before getting certified as a Product Manager by the AIPMM, Kathleen leveraged her Master’s degree in Music and followed in the footsteps of her family, becoming a public school music teacher. She got from music to technology straight, with crooked lines and believes that her background in education makes her a more insightful Product leader.
In her spare time, Kathleen is a passionate Disney enthusiast who loves movies, cooking, playing the piano, having fun with her pets, and pretty much anything that she gets to do with her husband and daughter.
Allen’s passion for his work is infectious! He is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure our clients are satisfied and earn their business. As the head of Rockpoint’s Accounting Department, Allen has overall responsibility for reporting, analyses, controls, financials, budgeting, monitoring, tax compliance, team development, and more. He loves working in a dynamic, tech-savvy environment with like-minded professionals who join efforts to help people who are struggling.
Allen is a Certified Management Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the California State University of Channel Islands (CSUCI). Before joining our team he was a Controller and Mortgage Fund Manager at RCTC. He also has prior experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst, Mortgage Servicing Specialist, and Home Retention Specialist at Bank of America.
In his spare time, he loves mountain biking and playing basketball. He is also a passionate hiker who has backpacked to the summit of Mount Whitney, the highest mountain in the contiguous United States.
Ariel is always there when we need him! As the HR Manager, his role is all about people! From recruitment and onboarding to enhancing the employee experience, ensuring that Rockpint’s team members thrive for years to come. He loves getting to know people and truly appreciates every individual’s communication style, making every interaction a fascinating experience.
Ariel is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Human Resources Management at Cal State Dominguez Hills. Before joining our team, he gathered ten years of Human Resources and Management experience that taught him that the foundation of a successful operation lies in team empowerment and trust-building. Ariel’s background includes working in the finance and security operations industries. Most recently, he worked with an investment management company that focused on private preschools and online tutoring services.
Whether he’s on the field, watching a match, or attending live games, Ariel is an avid soccer enthusiast. He also enjoys fine-tuning his car’s audio system and creating memorable moments with his children at the park.
Rich turns our promise of flexibility into a reality! He oversees all lien negotiations and goes out of his way to provide optimal solutions to our customers’ reduction requests. Since he joined our team in 2018, Rich has learned to adapt. He knows that each case is different, but staying customer-centric is key. Rich strongly values relationships, he loves being able to help others and always aims to make all parties happy with the outcome.
Rich holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from St. John’s University. He started his career with our company and has gotten to know the industry inside and out.
Rich loves to play and watch most sports, especially basketball. He also enjoys hiking, the beach and spending quality time with his family.
Rossy is a solution-finder, focused on cultivating meaningful long-term partnerships with medical facilities and doctors who are striving to make a positive impact on patients’ lives. She approaches every task with remarkable patience and dedication, whether she’s negotiating contracts or handling reimbursement processes.
Rossy holds a Bachelor of Healthcare Administration. She brings over 5 years of extensive experience in the medical field, with a journey that ranges from working with autistic children to coordinating a medication savings program for a Federally Qualified Health Center. Just before joining our team in 2022, Rossy successfully managed a home health facility with over 60 nurses.
Rossy has a vibrant personality and likes to maintain an active lifestyle. She loves dancing, traveling and hiking, as long as snakes, her biggest fear, are nowhere in sight.
If Rebecca says she can do something, you can consider it done! She is a passionate advocate for Rockpoint’s attorneys and case managers and never forgets that the small part she plays in her work with firms can have a life-altering impact on their clients.
Before joining our team in 2019, Rebecca worked for nearly a decade as a consultant for trial attorneys, big corporations and insurance companies, assisting with strategy and theme development on more than 100 complex, high-stakes cases. Through this experience, she witnessed the importance of a level playing field for both sides at trial and of equal access to justice for all.
Rebecca is delighted to sit in her supportive post on behalf of Plaintiffs! She is a seventh (possibly eighth) generation Californian and a keen golfer who also enjoys cooking, gardening and reading.
Neda is all about people and connections! She prioritizes building partnerships with law firms and medical professionals, aiming to streamline the funding process for all parties involved and ensure exceptional care and quality for the plaintiff.
By engaging with her customers on a personal level —understanding their backgrounds, hobbies, families, and the unique aspects that define them outside of the professional realm— Neda is able to deliver a meaningful customer-first experience every day.
Her strong professional experience in the field of commercial real estate investment sales translates into a diligent work ethic and strong social skills that contribute to the team’s ability to thrive in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
Neda loves doing yoga, reading books and listening to podcasts. She particularly enjoys learning about history, different cultures, and religions.
Elizabeth is a dependable and trustworthy partner who genuinely cares about people. She consistently goes the extra mile to foster lasting relationships with attorneys and their teams, striving to provide them with the solutions they need.
Elizabeth earned her Psychology degree from Saginaw Valley University. With a rich background in the sales and services industries, she has dedicated herself to assisting legal experts and their clients for over three and a half years. Notably, Elizabeth was among the pioneers in setting up and establishing funding to aid fire victims, offering them crucial advances on their settlements.
Elizabeth loves softball, golf, and most of all, horses. She grew up on a horse farm in Michigan and after moving to California she worked on TV shows “This is LA” and “This is SF”, where she earned IMBD credits as an Associate Producer.
Tanisha is a people person who will give what it takes to address our customer’s inquiries, concerns and requests timely and accurately. She has a keen eye for identifying business opportunities and the ability to provide the right resources at the right time.
Before joining our team in 2021, Tanisha worked in the healthcare industry for almost 15 years. She started as a Medical Secretary and became a Healthcare Liason and passionate advocate for programs to assist patients transitioning back into the community.
Customer satisfaction is her number one priority, she knows that each firm is different and tries to relate to every situation she is faced with. Tanisha is kind and genuine, she is a great team player who loves her job and approaches it with a contagious positive attitude.
Tanisha loves dancing! She studied ballet for 15 years and traveled the country competing with her dance team.
Chantel has a unique way of connecting with her customers. By constantly learning from them -and loving it!- she is able to provide funding solutions tailored to their specific needs.
Chantel never forgets that law firms and their clients are counting on us in their time of need and will bend over backwards to support them.
She holds a Bachelor of Organizational Communication from Marylhurst University. As a former consultant and retail operations manager, Chantel has experience in various industries. Early in her career, she spent many years writing, designing and implementing benefits plans for Fortune 500 companies which set her up to be doggedly curious. Chantel has experience at every level of an organization, and knowing the full project cycle helps her understand her customers better.
Chantel is an accomplished photographer, writer and former stand-up comedian. She even had her own show in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf for three years.
Bridget will be there for you! She is all about building and maintaining strong in-person relationships with the law firms we work with.
Bridget is eager to learn about each of our partners and how Rockpoint can be a good fit for their specific needs. She truly loves bringing treats, smiles and engaging conversations to our firms in Northern California, where she is based.
Bridget holds a B.S. in Political Science/Data Analytics and a B.A. in Biological Anthropology from the University of California San Diego. She started her career with Rockpoint in 2022 and is definitely working her way up.
Bridget’s positive attitude is contagious and shines through in everything she does. She loves gardening, playing tennis, and actively participating in her community by volunteering her time to various local organizations such as The Silicon Valley Pet Project.
Tony is always there when you need him! He focuses on developing and maintaining meaningful partnerships with legal experts who are striving to make a positive impact on plaintiffs’ lives.
Tony loves the ever-changing landscape of our field. He knows that persistence is key and is not afraid to step out of his comfort zone to pursue business opportunities.
Tony holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice and a B.A. in Musical Theatre. Before joining our team in 2022, he worked as a bartender for 13 years, which provided him with extensive experience in customer service.
Tony is a kind-hearted guy who goes out of his way to help others. He loves reading, playing guitar, singing in the shower, and acting. He is also a passionate traveler and avid football fan. GO BRONCOS!
Marco gets things done when others can’t! He and his team make a difference by truly caring about your firm and clients.
Marco believes that the best outcomes result from collaboration, and Rockpoint is proof of that! He goes above and beyond to contribute to our company’s growth while always finding a way to keep our customers happy.
Marco is an attorney and is currently pursuing an MBA. Before joining our team in 2020, he worked at courthouses and international companies. He sees his job as a fun learning experience and strives to do everything in life with passion and care.
Marco is really outgoing and loves to have interesting conversations on all topics. He spends his free time reading, running outdoors, and watching movies. He has done some casting work and even been an extra on several TV series.
